09-05-2011 is finally here. It's my first day as an intern and I'm so f**cking nervous.
Sleepless night and countless of mind simulations a night before this day... *exhales loudly* All because of my presumptions of what might be as for today.
As a starter, the 'torrential' traffic in KL is overwhelming (although I've been here countless of time and only now it seems so dramatic. I sound more or less like a jakun out of a sudden. LOL) and the only thing left out are for me to piss in my pants! LOL *I'm just kidding. It was scary to break through the stampede of cars and bikes in this concrete jungle. I’m already gone nuts from the sleepless nights and I had and to travel in that 'kuku' state. MCB!! pening kepala la weih.
Having to ride the bike to the nearest KTM then switching to LRT at Central, followed by walking to my office for thirty minutes - SCREW YOU GOOGLE MAP! When I googled for the direction, it mentioned that it's only 20 minutes to get to my office on foot. Somehow I end up drenched in pungent sweat after my unwanted 'morning workout'. Well, I have to get used to all this. It's all about the package. It's either you have it all or leave it all.
On the other hand, I got to see all types of people along the journey. Some where banging their head to 'dangdut' in the KTM, a grandpa who gluttons over two ice cream in the LRT, men and women practically having a 'rugby' session to get into the LRT. Interesting to observe as it gave me countless of ideas on ads which I kept on jotting on my notebook. Now I know why those in the creative industry are advised to keep a notebook on the go, a very useful tool to place ideas which you have no idea when you'll have to use it.
I'm all prepared to face this every single day for four months... I have no idea what I'm going to have in my book at the end of all these. Xp
Behold.... This is the place I'm going to call 'home' for the coming four months. I present to you EURO RSCG WORLDWIDE, an international ad agency where I have been accepted as an intern. The place quite cun but what's in store... God only knew.
Being in an ocean of pro's put me, a tiny small fry, to cold sweat all over with shaky knees when I see them at work. Maybe I'm having the first day jitters. I had stage frights but now this... *laughs*
Well, now I'm having a reality check on things, I still have lotsa lotsa things to learn. I'm yet to socialize with the 'RSCG family', hopefully they're not just like the 'Ogres and Witches' as described in some other blogs which posted by those who went intern in the industry before. I’m not saying the people I’m under now it one of them. They seem to be nice for now. LOL
I feel like a 7 year old getting into primary one. Everything is new although I have pretty much run countless of simulations on my head but still, nothing beats the real deal people.
All these while, ever since I touched a computer keyboard and wiggled my way trough programs and application... Mac Os just annoying me as if a granny singing Like a G6!! =.=' I've started to miss Windows the very I touched Mac ( although I just barely used it for two hours). You can imagine my 'culture shock' in using a multimedia tool.
Right now the people here are so busy with their current project which I have no idea of. Dang people cursing here and there... Just like the days I did campus event, but screw campus event... Who cares about your politeness or mannerism, fuck it. It's brutal out here man. A lady who seemed so nice few moments ago, brutally 'morphed' into a fearsome Dragon Lady. It’s all about meeting the deadlines and executing the work according to the instructions given in the brief. Things are seemingly very interesting here. Looking forward to the days I'm going to gain my first insight into this creative world. There are a lot of definitions regarding creativity.
And that shall be our tomorrow’s topic.
Look out for it. I’m sure it’ll be interesting.
I suddenly feel like "A Sheep in a City. LOL
